F.A.Q.
Q: Why are some of my student(s) results highlighted in yellow?
A: When an event reaches a MAX Total number of 3, the "counted" points for high-ranking students are highlighted. This is primarily to help the moderator and coaches audit the results to ensure the correct tournaments are counted for each student, and to ensure tiebreak procedures are applied correctly. Tiebreakers are also listed where applicable for students in these events.
Keep in mind, if an event is held and deemed eligible at all seven league tournaments this season, the final MAX Total number will be 4.
Q: My student(s) has more total points in their event, but is ranked below another student(s) - why?
A: The final rankings are based on the Maximum Total Points for each event. This number is represented in the MAX Total column on the rankings sheet.
For more information on the MAX total and other procedures for ranking students, see Qualification Procedures, Sec. 9-10.
Q: My student(s) has competed in a CFL-eligible event, but they don't show up on the spreadsheet - why?
A: Due to low entries in some speech events this season, the following events were not awarded rankings points at some tournaments:
The board reserves the right to amend this decision at a later date in the event entry numbers stay near or below 7 in these or other speech events.
If the minimum threshold is waived at a later date, qualifying points for missing tournaments will be retroactively awarded.
